Installation and Update Instructions for OpenCart 2.x

Before You Begin

Note - Do a BackupIf your OpenCart is not a fresh installation, it is strongly recommended to do a full backup of your files and database. Most hosting providers have a built-in website backup option, which can be accessed from your cPanel. For more information on how to create a backup of your files and database, please contact your web hosting provider.

Important - Uninstall Old NitroPackIf you are already using the old NitroPack Optimization Framework, you must first uninstall it before proceeding to install NitroPack.io.

Installation Instructions for OpenCart 2.x

  1. Download the NitroPack.io extension from here: https://nitropack.io/download/plugin/nitropack-for-opencart

  2. Unzip the downloaded ZIP file into a new folder.

  3. Login to your OpenCart admin panel and go to Extensions > Extension Installer.

  4. In the folder you unzipped in Step 2, find the folder for your version of OpenCart.

  5. Upload the file 2.x.x.nitropack.ocmod.zip to the OpenCart Extension Installer.

    NoteIf you receive an error, this most probably means that your OpenCart FTP settings are not properly configured, or FTP is not enabled on your server. To resolve this, follow these steps:

    STEP A: Go to System > Settings > Edit > FTP and update your FTP settings. After you are done, try uploading 2.x.x.nitropack.ocmod.zip again. If it does not work and you receive an error, follow STEP B.

    STEP B: Go to this link:

    Download and install the Quickfix for the OpenCart Extension installer. After you are done, try uploading 2.x.x.nitropack.ocmod.zip again. If this does not help, follow STEP C.

    STEP C: Unzip the contents of 2.x.x.nitropack.ocmod.zip in a new folder. Copy all files from the upload/ folder over your current OpenCart installation, preserving the directory structure. No original files will be overwritten. Go to Extensions > Extension Installer and upload each file from the folder _ocmod/.

  6. In your OpenCart admin panel and go to System > Users > User Groups, click Edit of your admin user group (i.e. Top Administrator)

  7. Enable Access and Modify permissions for:

    • extension/module/nitropack (in case you are running OpenCart 2.3.x)
    • module/nitropack (in case you are running OpenCart 2.0.x - 2.2.x)

  8. Click the Save button.

  9. Go to Extensions > Modifications and click the Refresh button on the top right.

  10. Go to Extensions > Modules > NitroPack.io and click the Install button.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed NitroPack.io!

Now you can move on to the next step - Connect Your Store.

Update Instructions for OpenCart 2.x

Follow the installation instructions above from Step 1 to Step 9.

After you are done, go to Extensions > Modules > NitroPack.io and review your settings.
