Why are my gifts are not showing in the front end?

There might be a few reasons why gifts are not showing in your store front but below we will be listing 2 of the most common reasons:

Select at Least One Customer Group

When you enter GiftTeaser Admin Panel > Gifts > Add a New Gift, you will see that one of the fields in the pop up is titled "Enable for the following customer groups."

This means that you need to choose the customer groups that will be able to see the gift in the storefront.

Failing to assign the gift to at least 1 customer group will not show it anywhere in your store.

So, the takeout is always make sure you enable the gifts for at least 1 customer group.

Set Start and End Date

Always set a Start and End date when you are creating a new gift. If you do not set a date or set the wrong dates, you will not see the gift in the storefront.

Order Totals

Do not forget to install and activate GiftTeaser from your Order Totals. Go to Admin > Extensions > Order Totals.

Install GiftTeaser and Enable it.

Does GiftTeaser work with product options?

Yes, GiftTeaser works with product options.

The best thing is that you don't have to do anything special when adding a new gift. GiftTeaser will automatically fetch all product options for you.

This means that once a client wants to get the gift they can choose among all available product options.

Can customers choose from multiple gifts?

GiftTeaser offers a single free gift to customers as an incentive for a purchase. It would not work with multiple gifts.

For cases when your customers would prefer a variety of gift choices, we have created a different extension, and if you prefer having a tool for different gift levels, we suggest taking a look at TieredGifts by iSenseLabs.

Can I choose disabled or out-of-stock products as free gifts?

GiftTeaser works only with enabled and in-stock products.

How can I customize the front end widgets?

There are a two widgets with the corresponding settings you can choose for the store front - the custom widget design colors. This is accessed via the module admin and is located under Layout > Custom widget design colors. You can set the:

  • Text color
  • Background color
  • Border color
  • Widget heading background

The next widget you can edit is the free gifts message. The widget is particularly useful for notifying clients that there is an accompanying gift with the product they are browsing. This is accessed via the module admin and is located under Layout > Custom free gift message settings. You can set the:

  • Text color
  • Background color
  • Border color
  • Widget heading background

Is GiftTeaser multi-store ready?

Yes, GiftTeaser works fine on a multi-store setup. You can change the module settings for each store using the store switcher widget in the top right corner of the Control Panel.
