Installation & Update Instructions for OpenCart 2.x

Before you begin We recommend you do a full backup of your OpenCart files and database, just in case.

Install using the OpenCart Extension Installer

  1. Unzip the downloaded ExcelPort .ZIP file into a new directory
  2. In your OpenCart admin panel go to Extensions > Extension Installer
  3. Upload the file excelport.ocmod.zip which is in the directory you created in step 1.
    NoteIf you receive an error "Could not connect as..." this means you have not configured FTP credentials for your Extension Installer. You can resolve this in two ways:
    Approach 1: Configure FTP from System > Settings > FTP
    Approach 2: Install the iSenseLabs QuickFix When you are done, try uploading excelport.ocmod.zip once again.
  4. Go to Extensions > Modules > ExcelPort and click the Install button
  5. Go to Extensions > Modifications and click the Refresh button on the top right

Congratulations! ExcelPort is now installed.


Manual Installation

  1. Unzip the downloaded ExcelPort .ZIP file into a new directory
  2. Navigate to this directory and find the file excelport.ocmod.zip
  3. Extract excelport.ocmod.zip into a new directory
  4. Navigate to the newly extracted directory. You will notice it contains a directory called upload/
  5. (Optional) If necessary, rename the admin/ and admin/language/english directories to match your OpenCart setup
  6. Upload the contents of the upload/ directory to your OpenCart installation, making sure to preserve the directory structure
  7. (Optional) The extracted excelport.ocmod.zip archive also contains the directory _ocmod/. It contains the file excelport.ocmod.xml. Feel free to upload this file with the OpenCart Extension Installer. Make sure to click Refresh in the Extensions > Modifications page after you upload excelport.ocmod.xml.

Congratulations! ExcelPort is now installed.


Update Instructions

  1. Follow one of the above installation methods
  2. Go to Extensions > Modules > ExcelPort > Edit and configure your settings
  3. Click Save on the top right

That's it! ExcelPort is now updated.
